Panels & service upgrades in Wenatchee

A new appliance, EV charger or remodel can raise questions about your electrical panel. Columbia Electrical reviews the existing equipment and proposed loads before recommending a panel replacement, service upgrade or another approach.

A panel replacement and a service upgrade are different decisions.

Replacing a panel changes the equipment distributing power inside the property. Increasing the electrical service can involve additional equipment and coordination with the serving utility. We review what you want to power, the existing installation and the available capacity so the proposal addresses the actual project.

Put the outage and inspection in the work plan.

Tell us which appliances, business operations or other loads need special consideration during a power interruption. Before work begins, the scope should identify the equipment being replaced, utility coordination, permit and inspection responsibilities, access and the anticipated work sequence. Scheduling depends on those details, not just the time required to install the panel.

What changes the price?

The existing meter and service equipment, panel location, circuit condition, access, wiring changes and the need for utility work affect the estimate. A photo can help start the conversation, but a photograph alone does not establish available capacity or a final installation price.

Project estimates & service-call pricing

Installation projects receive a scope-specific estimate or proposal. Equipment, wiring routes, access, permits and any utility coordination affect the price.

Service calls: $200 first hour · $160/hour after

First-hour minimum. After the first hour, time is billed in 15-minute increments ($40 each). Diagnosis and repair labor share the same clock. Shop-to-shop travel is billable; parts, including markup, and applicable tax are additional.

We back our electrical workmanship with a two-year warranty.

BEFORE YOU START

Questions, answered.

Does an EV charger always mean I need a new panel?

No upgrade is assumed. We review the existing electrical capacity and the charger requirements before discussing a new circuit, load management or changes to the panel or service.

Will I be without power?

Panel or service work can require an interruption. The proposal and schedule identify the affected equipment, utility coordination and how the work will be sequenced. Confirm your critical power needs when requesting the project.

Can you show a real panel replacement?

Yes. The before, during and after photographs below are from Columbia Electrical’s project gallery. Your installation and scope may be different.
